Tavira is described as the prettiest town on the Algarve and I find it an easy and relaxing place to holiday. The town has all the facilities you could need and enjoy, without it being "just a tourist resort". My experience of the Portuguese people is one of honesty and helpfulness in a quiet dignified way. A main attraction is the Ilha, which has the loveliest of sandy beaches, reached by a short picturesque trip on one of the regular ferries from the town.. If, like me, you occasionally want to venture further afield, Tavira is ideally placed for both Faro and Spain (a 2 hr drive to Seville). The surrounding Algarvean countryside has its own special charm with scenic drives, hills and villages.The Alentejo with its totally contrasting scenery is also within easy reach. Tavira is east of Faro, conveniently served by both train and bus.

The apartment is quietly situated within the historic centre of Tavira, with views of the Igreja de Carmo to the front, and gardens to the rear. It is within easy walking distance of the river and Roman Bridge, cafes, shops and restaurants. With a large, sunny lounge-dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfasting terrace, three double bedrooms, bathroom and shower room, the apartment can comfortably accommodate up to six guests.
