Overall we were quite happy with this rental. Our party included 2 families, with 8 total people.
The first comment that I will make is that the house was actually a bit nicer than it initially appears from the photos. The bathrooms are in very good shape, the kitchen appliances are new, and it was clear that the owner has put a bit of money into the house over the last few years.
If you are concerned about the road being between the house and the lake, don't be. There is little to no traffic on the street. We were totally comfortable crossing the road to the stairs down to the water.
As for the dock, it suited it's purpose. Not great itself for hanging out on, but does it's job as a place to dock a boat. The lake bottom near the dock is generally sandy and a good place to swim. The nearby beach is also a great spot for swimming with kids. That stretch of the lake can get a bit windy, but we only had one night of higher (15 mph) winds.
On a hot day, some of the upstairs bedrooms can get a bit hot and stuffy. There are some window AC units, but not in all rooms. Bring a fan or two if you plan to use all of the bedrooms.
Check in and check out worked fine. One thing that surprised me was the owner forwarding an additional contract he wanted me to sign. It wasn't really a big deal as most of the aspects of that contract were in line with the listing and the VRBO policies, but it was unexpected.
Overall, a good house, in a good location for the price.
