Washed Out
Our trip was washed out due to the effects of Hurricane Ian so some of my ratings are filled in because I had to fill something in. Two comments:
1- Be sure to pay attention to whether or not you need a linen package. While it does not specifically say linens are included in the listing, it also doesn't say they aren't listed...and it's an additional charge to include towels/sheets. It is in the contract document, but I missed it when I signed the contract and thankfully noticed it just before check-in. I think it would be easier to bump the rate a little bit and just include it.
2- As I mentioned initially, our plans changed due to the impact of Hurricane Ian. I was disappointed at the lack of empathy that the management company provided. I know that the contract clearly states that there are no cancellations, even for natural disasters including hurricanes, so they satisfied their legal standard. However, I believe there is a higher moral standard that could have been met. We got nothing more than stock responses of "these units are owned by individuals and we are just the management company" and "Ocean City is still open for business", along with "the weather isn't too bad here" when we had weather forecasts that were talking about potential flooding (which was our ultimate point in deciding not to come because we didn't want to get stuck and miss our flight home).
I do business with people that I feel adhere to a moral standard, which is higher than a legal standard, and that are willing to find a mutually beneficial solution to a problem. Between the extra charge for linens (which is somewhat "hidden") and the lack of desire to work with us while a hurricane was affecting much of the East Coast, I felt like the management company was only interested in the bottom line.
I won't be booking a property through this company again.
