Maluhia Moon Cottage
Great little hospitable cottage. If you are looking for a nice safe place for morning and sleeping this is perfect. We were gone during the day doing activities and returned at night. It has a nicely stocked kitchen for light cooking. It needs to have more towels, 2 working chairs for the deck. We needed to wash dishes and glassware before using. The fans were adequate for morning and night. The pool is immaculate! Val was great to work with and provides valuable formation about the area. Check in was easy. The
Good North Shore Base
This little condo was great for us--centrally located on the North Shore, a quick drive to the main road, as well as food and beaches. I was concerned about not having AC, but honestly, it cooled off at night and with the fans I was never too hot to sleep. If you're the kind of person who likes to come back to nap around 3 PM that might be a different story, but usually we were out and about all day, so it wasn't a problem for us. A dehumidifier might be a nice addition (since things took a while to dry) but otherwise the condo was well appointed (beach chairs, umbrella, towels, snorkel gear) and clean. I really liked that it was the only one-story building in that section so you don't have to worry about people making noise upstairs waking you up. Neighbors were nice, and I liked that parking was right outside. I didn't cook (tho I probably should have, given food prices around Princeville) so can't comment on the kitchen but it's a nice option.
Needs extensive renovation and a kitchenette with dishwasher. Mugs were old and dirty. Needs a decent closet. It was kept as clean as possible under the poor circumstances. Bed sheets did not match bed size therefore it was impossible to have a comfortable bed made! The fan was filthy! Etc, etc.
It was hard to give a three star!!
Interesting how you had no problem contacting me for some money back because you had misjudged your flight time and needed to leave a day earlier, and I graciously did so. Why did it not occur to you to contact me if you found problems in the unit? I am very clear in my instructions to call my cleaners (or myself) IMMEDIATELY to give us a chance to remedy any problems. This did not happen.
Your review is puzzling to me as well. You say "mugs were dirty... fan was filthy" yet you also say " it was kept as clean as possible under the circumstances" This does not make sense. Please, if you're going to review, be consistent!
Lastly, if you needed a walk-in closet perhaps you might consider the Princeville Hotel down the street for 400.00 per night- don't choose a budget option.
Sadly, it's situations like this that feed into the old adage that 'no good deed goes unpunished'... and I don't want to start thinking like that.
I loved staying in this little cottage, prefect size for me and it had all the essentials and everything I needed for my stay. It was clean and organized and the indoor decorations are very cute and beachy. The key situation was also very practical so I never had to worry about misplacing or carrying around the keys. The beautiful greenery around the house was very nice and the back porch was a relaxing place to hangout. Being close to convenient places, beautiful sites and the hike down to the relatively secluded beach was probably my favorite part. Overall a great stay :)
Great Value and Location
Excellent value and location. Challenging to cook and cool down.
Had everything we needed
Modest place but has all the necessities. Easy walk to Anini Beach which ended up being one of my favorite parts of being here.
