We had a great time here! The condo is so cute! It’s very open concept so keep that in mind if you like your privacy but for a quick weekend with the girls or even just a couple alone it’s great! We never attempted to actually walk to the French Quarter but Uber/Lift was only ever about $7-$8
Great place to stay for 1 or 2 people
Pros: Great location with several close parking options, and easy access to French Quarter or to St. Charles St. Beds were comfortable, master bath had a great shower, nice living room, and a cute little outdoor patio. Noise level was really pretty quiet, and there was also a full-size dining table if you wanted to eat in (though why would you in New Orleans?). The property manager, Melissa, was accessible and promptly returned my email question, even on a Saturday when their office was closed. She also followed up quickly with a refund of the security deposit - very professional, and much appreciated.
Cons: The loft upstairs was only accessible by a narrow spiral stair, and the bathroom serving this was downstairs. This was bit awkward for our younger kids who sometimes need to "use the potty" in the middle of the night and we didn't really want them navigating that staircase in the dark. Worse, the A/C unit really didn't cool off the loft, though New Orleans was pretty hot when we were there in early June. They had a new full-size portable (stand-up) unit installed up there that did blow out cold air, but it seemed to have a really hard time keeping up, and we couldn't get the room to cool past what I'd guess was around 80. Maybe we should have kept it cranked down into the mid-60s during the day and that would have helped, but I didn't want to freeze up the unit or be wasteful. To solve both problems, we eventually let our kids sleep on the couches in the downstairs living room, next to the 2nd bathroom. (I did not call and complain, as we were only there 2 nights over a weekend.) The kitchen area is quite small, as is the refrigerator, but this did not bother us in the least, as we were determined to enjoy dining out at every opportunity.
In short, I loved several things about this condo, and I think it's a very good value for New Orleans. If my wife and I were returning to NOLA for a weekend, I would absolutely stay here again. However, the loft sleeping area was not the best fit for my kids, so I would probably look elsewhere if I brought the whole family, despite the good value, great location, and multiple beds. If your kids are older or don't mind a warmer sleeping area, it probably wouldn't be as much of an issue. Hope that helps.
We loved our time in this condo - close to everything downtown/uptown without being in the noisy parts of town. Highly recommend. The only thing is that the upstairs gets hot during the day where the three beds are which can be difficult during the warm summer months. We had plenty of space for our party of six, felt safe, and were able to walk to a ton of restaurants/bars.
Weekend with the girls
Loved it! Such a cute place and close to everything we needed. Would definitely rent again 😊
We loved our stay on Julia Street for our girls trip!! There were 7 of us and we all slept comfortably!! Lots of towels and blankets in the closet as well which was nice! It was very walkable to the french quarter and a short uber ride to other fun activities. We did have some leaking in the bathroom but Melissa was attentive to the issue the leak as stopped as soon as the plumber could get there. It was a prefect place for a larger group!!
Truly enjoyed staying at this property. Just a walk from all the major places but the perfect distance away from the craziness without feeling off the grid. We loved it :) Also very well stocked with towels, blankets, toiletries. Would 100% stay here again. The only down fall is the $300 deposit taken at time of reservation. A little steep when you’re booking months in advance, but that could be VRBO’s policy, not sure.
