Charming old farmhouse
It was a nice couple of days. Although it was hot outside, we stayed cool with the AC units in each room. We chose this place for our kids to enjoy the animals and they loved it. Although note that you cannot pet the Llamas like you'd want to pet a cute, soft housepet; they are much more trepidatious. We were also surprised that strangers would show up on the property unannounced because this farm is also a place of business. Overall we were able to relax, but we wish we had a bit more privacy.
Thank you for your review and I would like to respond to some of your comments. Every guest receives a guest info sheet and a copy of our liability contract. It does not seem like you read either one of the forms or carefully read our listing details. Alpacas are livestock not pets and do not like to be petted. They are very friendly and give kisses but they are still livestock. My listing clearly states you are staying at a business, a working farm. Orders for eggs and chicken feed are texted to me and eggs are put in the egg box out front and the feed is put on a cart in the driveway for my customers. My customers are only here for a minute to pick up their orders. They are not intrusive to my guests knowing my farm is a rental and respect this. They do not go through the carport to the back of the house and they do not come in the back yard at all. Most people never know my customers were here and picked up their orders. On your liability contract it clearly states no one is allowed to go in the Alpaca, goat or chicken pastures if I am not here and that parents are to be responsible for their children at all times. I was horrified to come home to find your children which seemed to be between 5-10 years old were unsupervised and were in the chicken coops and pastures. This is not a petting zoo and this could be a dangerous situation for a small child. I came home to check on the baby chicks to find the door to the coop where the babies are kept was wide open as well as the room that has to be kept at 100 degrees for the chicks. There were several hens in there. Luckily I got in there before the hens saw the chicks. If the hens would have seen the chicks they would have killed everyone one of them. The kids broke over a dozen eggs collecting them. This is why I could not give you the privacy you desired. I felt it was dangerous to my animals and to your children to let them wander the property and coops unsupervised.
Welcoming and great location
We found this home a very pleasant, comfortable and welcoming place to be, and were very happy to be among chickens and alpacas! The location was perfect for our plans around the Eugene-Springfield area.
It was wonderful meeting your family and talking chickens with your kids and farm life in Rwanda. I am glad they had such a nice stay. Hope to see the kids again when the come back to the United States.
We just spent 4 nights at Peaceful Sanctuary. The beautiful
restored farmhouse is very clean and each room of this 90 yr old house are warm and welcoming.
The farm is home to 3 alpacas, 3adorable dogs,a cat and many chickens. The grounds of the farm are full of beautiful flowers, old maple trees and everything is meticulously kept by then owner Pam.
Pam is kind and immediately made us feel welcome. We learned about the alpacas, gathered fresh eggs and enjoyed the peacefulness of this amazing working farm.
Thank you Cindy and John for staying at the farm and for helping with cutting down trees and pulling tansy. What a treat for me to have guests wanting to help and learn what it's like to run a farm. Your help was invaluable to me. I so enjoyed all of your company and hope to see you again soon. It was really fun having cook out with you both.
U of O Graduation Weekend
We loved our stay at the farm! Especially enjoying fresh eggs for breakfast in the garden with the alpacas close by. Walking along and wading in the nearby Mackenzie River were also enjoyable activities.
Thank you so much for staying at the farm. I really enjoyed having you all here. Congratulations to your daughter and I wish her the best on this next journey of her life.
Fun on the farm!
Pam is an amazing hostess. She was always looking out for our comfort! We had a delightful stay!
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and got to have quality time with your loved ones. It was great to meet all of you and I enjoyed the little time we had together. Big thanks for the honey, it is delicious. That was to kind of you. Hope to see you again soon. Best Wishes
We had the pleasure of staying on the Peaceful Sanctuary property for five days, and we couldn’t have had a better stay. Pam was a warm, informative and gracious host. She made sure that we had everything we needed to ensure that we had a memorable trip.
The home was well appointed, comfortable and lovely, and the gardens were beautiful and serene. Everywhere we looked there was something in bloom! We quickly fell in love with the friendly and affectionate alpacas, dogs, chickens and cat. When Pam was tending to the animals and gardens, she patiently answered all of our questions about the area and animals. Being a city mouse, I enjoyed learning about the care of the alpacas and chickens. I wanted to take Fozzie, the alpha alpaca, home, but alas, he wouldn’t fit in my suitcase.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make delicious meals, and the eggs that Pam provided were incredibly delicious! After a long day it was nice to retreat to the comfortable bed- I don’t think that we have slept so soundly in months!
I cannot recommend the Peaceful Sanctuary highly enough. I came wanting respite, and left feeling renewed.
Sincere thanks Pam, I can see why so many of your guests leave as your friends. I am grateful to have found a friend in you. I can’t wait until our next visit!
Thank you for the very kind review. It was great having you at the farm because you were into learning about the animals and living off the land. It's always exciting to be able to share my passion with nice folks who appreciate what I do. I am glad you are coming back and I look forward to your stay. Making friends with wonderful people like you that stay at the farm fills my heart with joy! PS - thanks for locking up the chickens for me.
